DRAMA | 2025 | 4 mins

A man stumbles upon a dead body, an encounter that shatters the comfort of his everyday routine and forces him to confront the fragility of existence. What begins as a shocking discovery soon evolves into something far more internal and philosophical.

Through a quiet yet emotionally charged conversation between two friends, the film explores the complexity of death, the uncertainty of what it means to truly live, and the difficult questions that often remain unspoken. The discovery becomes a catalyst for reflection, pushing both characters to examine their beliefs, fears, and perspectives on mortality.

Rather than focusing on the event itself, the film centres on dialogue and human connection, using conversation as a way to unpack grief, meaning, and the weight of awareness. It is a contemplative short that invites the audience to sit with discomfort and reflect on life’s impermanence.

During its festival run, the film was long-listed at the Gloucester Independent Film Festival and selected for the Cambridge Short Film Festival.

Director’s note:

“I found this film deeply important to make. The central conversation is rooted in my own reflections on death, a subject we often avoid or push aside in everyday life. It is uncomfortable, complex, and difficult to fully understand.

For me, thinking about death is not about fear, but about awareness. It forces us to confront how fragile and temporary our time here truly is. In doing so, it also reminds us that we are alive right now.

This film is a quiet reflection on that idea. That life, despite its uncertainty, is rare and special. And sometimes it is only by acknowledging the inevitability of death that we can fully appreciate the value of living.“
